General Description Models

RES-1 targets are optical glass substrates with clear lines on an opaque background. They are used in transmission and are easily held in FH-2 mounts. RES-1 fully conforms to the USAF-1951 resolution target standard, and is recommended for the most demanding applications. The glass substrate is a perfect medium for the resolution printing process, and the line groups appear very clearly.

RES-2 targets are emulsion on paper positives and may be used for photo lens testing. RES-2 is a lesser expensive alternative to the RES-1. Please note that for RES-2, the printing of higher resolution groups beyond Group 4 – Element 4 is done on a best effort basis. Because the grain structure of the paper substrate is unable to support the smaller features, the lines pairs become indiscernible at the higher resolutions. For the most stringent applications, please choose RES-1.
